Indien bandlyser "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"

David Fincher nægter at fjerne scener.

Indiens Central Board of Film Certification har krævet, at der bliver klippet i visse scener af "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", men det nægter David Fincher at gøre og derfor bliver filmen ikke fremvist i landet.

"Sony Pictures will not be releasing 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' in India," udtalte studiet. "The Censor Board has adjudged the film unsuitable for public viewing in its unaltered form and, while we are committed to maintaining and protecting the vision of the director, we will, as always, respect the guidelines set by the Board."

De omtalte scener involverer alle sex, en med Lisbeth Salander og Mikael Blomkvist, en med Salander og en kvinde samt en endnu en med Salander, hvor hun bliver tortureret og voldtaget.
