John Travolta måske i mafiaboss' fodspor

Forhandler om rolle i "Gotti".

John Travolta forhandler i øjeblikket om hovedrollen som mafiabossen John Gotti i filmen "Gotti".

"We would love to have him," lyder det fra Fiore Films, der står bag projektet. "He's a terrific actor. John Gotti, Sr. — he's an icon. And so is Travolta. The Gottis have an image already. People know who they are. You can't just be a good actor, you have to be a great actor who can become John Gotti."

Filmen handler om tre generationer af mafia-familien, men fortælles igennem Gottis søn, John Gotti Jr. Det forventes, at Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, John Q) skal instruere, imens James Franco muligvis skal medvirke i en birolle.

Optagelserne starter til sommer, og hvis det står til Fiore, så bliver filmen en succes a la en tidligere trilogi:

"It's going to be the new 'Godfather,'" udtaler firmaet. "It's a story about a father and a son, but the father happens to be John Gotti Sr."
